Previously the path was only checked when you saved the form, which meant the path the plugin sets for itself when it is first installed was never checked at all. * When a site moves to different hosting, the settings move with it but the directory layout does not, so the stored path ends up describing the old server and every update fails. The plugin now names this specifically and offers a ‘Use This Path’ button to set the path to this installation’s own root. * The connection test now fails when the file cannot be written, instead of reporting success. It previously only checked files that already existed, so a path whose directory had been removed passed the test and then failed every update. * An update that cannot write the file now reports that the location is unwritable, rather than reporting a generic failure. #### 1.2.0 app-ads.txt support, plus security and metadata corrections * app-ads.txt files are now updated by the plugin, with their own path and their own custom records, kept separately from your ads.txt file so neither can overwrite the other. Nothing is written to app-ads.txt unless ads.txt Guru asks for it. * ads.txt Guru names the file in both halves of the update request, and the plugin confirms which file it is writing before writing it. An installation running an older version of the plugin is not sent app-ads.txt content at all, so it cannot write it to the wrong file. * The file path form no longer requires the file to already exist, as long as its directory is writable. app-ads.txt usually will not exist yet. * Security: the path guard now rejects a directory whose name merely starts with the WordPress installation path, and rejects a home path that cannot be resolved rather than accepting any directory. * Security: the connection key, secret and token parameter are generated with wp_rand() rather than rand(). * Saving custom records now reports a file it could not write instead of always reporting success. * Corrected plugin metadata: ‘Requires at least’ is 3.0 (site_url(), used since 1.0.0, was added in WordPress 3.0) and ‘Requires PHP’ is 5.4 (JSON_PRETTY_PRINT). Both were understated. Tested on WordPress 6.9.4, 7.0.4 and 7.1 (RC3). #### 1.1.2 Security hardening and improvements #### 1.1.1 Fixed plugin metadata: reduced tags to comply with 5 tag limit, added GPLv2 license declaration. #### 1.1.0 Custom ads.txt records feature added.
