Theme compatibility
The plugin is designed to work with standards-compliant WordPress themes.
Compatible third-party integrations
SecureHold WP 3.4.11+ can hold a fixed WpRently security deposit as a separate Stripe authorization instead of adding it to the WooCommerce total, once WooCommerce checkout, the Stripe Gateway and SecureHold’s MagePeople compatibility option are all set up; see SecureHold docs for setup help.
In each Rent Item’s Security Deposit settings, «Multiply fixed deposit by booked quantity» charges the fixed amount for every booked unit, including each room or multiple-item unit. It is off for existing items; percentage deposits continue to use the rental subtotal. SecureHold’s static hold does not support this option and requires a compatible SecureHold update to fall back to WpRently checkout.

Журнал изменений
2.8.1
- Fixed: The Seasonal Pricing, Discount Over X Days and Min & Max Booking Day addons were saved in the editor but ignored, or priced inconsistently, on the booking forms themselves (Resort, Multiple Items and Multi Day). Resort room pricing wasn’t reading seasonal rates at all; a Resort booking with more than one room type could total the wrong amount under seasonal/tiered pricing; a blank seasonal rate billed a free night; Discount Over X Days never showed on the Resort summary; «Sessional pricing applied» could leak between visitors; a sold-out room could block the cart from reading rooms listed after it; and a Multiple Items discount badge could show without the discount actually being applied. Booking totals on tax-inclusive shops could also save as empty. All of these now price the same way on the booking form as they do in the cart.
- Updated the bundled Appneck SDK to the latest version.
- Fixed: Buffer Time After was ignored on Single Day rentals with hourly time slots («Manage inventory as timely»). A new booking could start the moment the previous one ended. The item now stays unavailable for the buffer after every booking, and a new booking must also end at least that long before the next one starts. The time picker, calendar, cart and checkout all apply it. Note that Buffer Time Before is a lead time from the current time, not a gap between bookings.
- Security: Quantities posted from the booking forms must now be whole numbers. Negative, fractional or malformed quantities are refused instead of pricing a booking at zero or at a fraction of its value.
- New: Same day booking cutoff time (Settings > General). Once it passes, today can no longer be booked and the earliest pickup is tomorrow. Past dates, today when same day booking is off, and today after the cutoff are now also refused at add to cart, in the cart and at checkout, not only in the date picker. Items with admin-set fixed dates are not affected.
- New: Optional per-item fixed security deposit multiplied by booked quantity. The rental form and checkout use the selected room, item, or rental count; existing fixed and percentage deposits retain their behavior.
- New: Seasonal weekly and monthly rates for multi-day items (with the Seasonal Pricing addon). Each billed week or month uses the rate of the season it starts in; previously a season had no effect on bookings billed by the week or month. A season without these rates keeps using the item’s regular weekly or monthly rate.
- New: «Charge base price per variation unit» for multi-day items with item variations. When on, the rental price is charged once per variation unit chosen, so three bikes in different sizes are billed as three bikes. It is off by default, so existing items keep their prices. The booking summary now also shows how the variation and duration costs were worked out.
- Improved: On items that have a Quantity selector, the selector now sets the quantity, and the size or color steppers must add up to it before Book Now is enabled.
- Fixed: Items with more than one variation group (for example Color and Size) shared one quantity between the groups, and on items without a Quantity selector the booked quantity stayed at 1.
- Fixed: Variation groups saved without a label were dropped. They are now kept with the label «Item Variation».
- Fixed: Single Day rental options without timely inventory or variations: the stock set for each option on the Pricing tab is now enforced at add to cart, including other cart items for the same date.
- Fixed: Multiple Items bookings could be billed at the wrong rate when the duration passed more than one hourly, daily, weekly or monthly threshold.
- Improved: Saving an item now blocks an hourly price without the time picker, which had no effect on the booking form, and requires a Rent Item Stock Quantity when a Single Day item shares one stock count based on booking time.
- Improved: Redesigned Order Received page, date picker popup, duration summary and FAQ section (with Load More after five questions).
- Improved: Modern editor: redesigned Pricing, Item Variations, Extra Services and Off Day settings, and the Frontend Preview now includes location and security deposit charges and greys out off days on multi-day dates.
- Fixed: Modern editor: a duplicate stock quantity field could appear for items with old hourly inventory settings, and the day-wise extra service summary did not show the multiplied total.
- Improved: Updated demo, documentation and addon links.
2.8.0
- New: SecureHold WP integration (highlight of this release). A fixed WpRently security deposit can now be held on the customer’s card as a separate Stripe authorization hold through SecureHold WP 3.4.11 or later, instead of being charged with the booking. The customer pays only the rental; the hold is released automatically, or you can capture it from SecureHold if needed.
- New: Settings > Integrations runs every SecureHold setup step in place, without leaving the page: installing or activating WooCommerce, SecureHold and the official Stripe gateway, switching bookings to the WooCommerce checkout, enabling SecureHold’s MagePeople compatibility, and turning off SecureHold’s global default hold so it only holds WpRently deposits. The panel reports Ready only when the Stripe gateway and SecureHold’s own Stripe keys are set in the same mode.
- New: When SecureHold holds a deposit on the customer’s card, the booking form, cart and checkout say so and no longer add it to the total. Deposits that are charged instead show «included in your total». For carts with rentals this replaces SecureHold’s own checkout notice. The Bookings page shows each order’s deposit hold (amount, status, automatic release date) or, for charged deposits, a reminder that they are refunded from the order.
- Fixed: A deposit SecureHold took over but could not hold (Standalone checkout, or Stripe not connected yet) was dropped from the charge. It is now charged as before.
- Fixed: Resort bookings charged the security deposit twice at WooCommerce checkout, once inside the room price and again as the Security Deposit fee.
- Fixed: The Security Deposit shown on an order line could differ from the amount charged (for example $34.80 for a $35.09 fee), because it was recalculated from rounded-down prices.
- Improved: The rent list grid and list layouts now show per-duration prices for Dress, Equipment and Others items too, and the «from» price uses the item’s own listing duration first.
- Improved: The «Any duration» variation price field is only shown when the item has no duration options or already has a flat price saved.
- Fixed: A fatal error at WooCommerce checkout, most often with the block checkout and taxes enabled, when fees were saved to the order.
- Fixed: Tax Status and Tax Class set in the modern editor were not applied at checkout, because they were not copied to the rental item’s linked WooCommerce product.
- Fixed: Rental items whose tax settings had never been changed stopped being taxed after the next save, so orders showed Tax $0.00. An item with no tax status set now uses the WooCommerce default (taxable), and the tax shown in the booking summary is the tax charged at checkout. Items affected by this are repaired automatically; items set to Tax Status = None are not changed.
- Fixed: On sites using WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS), a booking’s order total was read as empty. It is now read through the WooCommerce order API.
- Fixed: Multi-day bookings with both daily and hourly rates cost $0 when pickup and return were on the same date without times. A date-only same-day booking is now billed as one day; same-day bookings with times are still priced by the hour.
- Fixed: Single-day rentals with item variations charged and reserved only one unit. When the per-size steppers replace the Quantity selector, booking two items was priced as one and the other units stayed available. The quantity now follows the steppers, and each size is still checked against its own stock.
- Fixed: The day-long price switch could save the opposite of what was shown. It now saves the selected state in both the classic and modern editors.
- Fixed: The resort pricing table in the editor could load values from the wrong item and did not line up as a table.
- Fixed: The fee price overflowed past the right edge of the Fee Management card on narrow single-day, multi-day and multiple-items booking forms, and the resort fee section was misaligned.
- Fixed: The image slider showed a «+0» tile over the last image when a gallery had exactly four images.
- Fixed: A PHP 8.1 deprecation notice on the rental items list page.
2.7.9
- New: Global Off Dates. A new Global Off Dates tab in Settings lets you add date ranges when every rental item is closed, such as holidays or business-wide downtime, while the website stays online. These dates are blocked in all booking calendars (Single Day, Multiple Day, Resort, Multiple Items) and in search, and are also enforced on the server during search, availability checks, WooCommerce add-to-cart and checkout, and Standalone booking. A rental period cannot span a closed range. Each item’s own off days and off dates work as before.
- New: Per-duration variation pricing. Each item variation value, such as a size or a brand, can now have a separate price for each duration the item is rented by: Hourly, Half Day, Daily, Weekly and Monthly, or the item’s own rent types for Single Day and Appointment items. This price is charged per booked unit on top of the item’s rate. For multi-day rentals it is split into months, weeks, days and hours using the same rules as the item’s base price. The existing single price field is kept as «Any duration» and is still used when no per-duration price is set, so current prices do not change. The live price preview and the cart use the same calculation.
- New: Booking confirmation page for Standalone (Custom Payment) bookings. After checkout, customers see a dedicated page with the booking status, booking reference and full order details (item, pickup and return, quantity, subtotal, discount, total, payment method). Previously a short notice was shown above the rental item page.
- New: Self-service booking confirmation for Offline Payment. A customer with a pending booking can confirm it by entering a one-time code sent to their e-mail. Codes expire after 10 minutes, can be resent after 45 seconds, and are locked after 5 wrong attempts. Bookings confirmed this way are marked «via OTP» in the Bookings list so staff can tell them apart. This is enabled by default and can be switched off under Payments > Custom Payment > Offline Payment > Reconfirm Booking Button.
- New: Rent Item Type manager. Rent types now have their own admin screen, with totals, search, filters, sorting, grid and list views, and an add/edit window that saves without reloading the page. Old links to the default WordPress category screen redirect to it.
- New: Rent type images. Each rent type can have an image, set either from the Rent Item Type screen or from the Add/Edit Rent Type window in the modern editor. The Parent field was removed from both windows. Rent types that already have a parent keep it when edited.
- New: [rbfw_rent_types] shortcode and an automatically created Rent Types page. The page shows every rent type as a card with its image, number of items, and a link to its rental listing.
- New: Welcome screen after activation, with links to create the first rental item or to explore the demo and documentation. It is shown whether or not WooCommerce is active.
- New: Guided tour of the modern rental item editor. The tour goes through the editor section by section and shows the pricing steps for the selected rent type (Single Day, Appointment, Multiple Day, Resort or Multiple Items). It starts automatically once for each admin user and can be replayed from «Take a Tour» in the editor sidebar.
- Improved: The [rent-search] search bar has been redesigned. Its date picker now uses the site’s primary colour, and the Pickup Location field is hidden when no rental item has pickup locations.
- Improved: All section headers in the modern editor now share one consistent style. The Pickup, Drop-off, Location Pricing and Delivery toggles in the Location card are easier to read and are highlighted when switched on.
- Improved: The modern editor now shows either the «no payment method» banner or the Payment Method card, never both. The site-wide admin notice warning that no payment gateway is enabled is no longer displayed; the same warning is still shown in the rental item editor.
- Improved: The PayPal, Stripe and Offline Payment settings windows now close after a successful save and refresh the gateway status. If saving fails, the window stays open.
- Improved: Booking form polish. In the Standalone checkout window, the coupon field is now collapsed behind «Have a coupon?». The image slider arrows were moved to the bottom-right corner so they no longer cover the title and price. The booking summary badges were restyled and the «Free cancellation» badge was removed. The Optional Add-ons table is better aligned.
- Improved: The sample data import now gives each demo item matching rent types, each with its own image. New installs no longer create the unused Boat and Yacht rent types.
- Improved: The Rent Item menu now shows one «Rent Item Type» entry, which opens the new rent type manager.
- Fixed: The Book Now button stayed disabled on multi-day items priced with variation quantity selectors when the item’s separate Quantity dropdown was switched off.
- Fixed: The Pickup and Return Time dropdowns showed «NaN:NaN» when time slots were saved in 12-hour format, such as «5:00 PM».
- Fixed: The month calendar showed every future date as sold out for Multiple Items rentals after moving to another month. Availability is now calculated from each item row’s own stock or shared inventory.
- Fixed: Past time slots and slots inside the booking buffer looked like valid choices. They are now greyed out and struck through like sold-out slots. Slots inside the buffer are labelled «Not available» instead of «Past Time», and both labels can now be translated.
- Fixed: In Fee Management, the delete button showed an alert instead of removing the fee row, the duplicate button showed a broken icon, the row buttons overlapped each other, and the Frequency field was missing on rows added for Dress, Equipment and Others items.
- Fixed: A fatal error on the [rbfw_booking_search] page when WooCommerce is not active. The quick add, add to booking, checkout and cart actions on that page now show a clear message instead of failing.
- Fixed: The [rent-search] date picker was attached to the wrong element, and the words «Pickup date» appeared inside the date field on the search results page.
- Fixed: Browsers could keep showing old rent list and search styles after a plugin update, because that stylesheet’s version number did not change when the file changed.
- Fixed: A possible fatal error when WooCommerce is installed and activated from the Add Plugins screen or through a one-click setup while the plugin is running in Standalone mode.
- Fixed: The rental template list could show folders from the active theme instead of the plugin’s own templates, and showed PHP warnings when no templates were found.
- Fixed: On themes with a custom wide layout width, the rent type and location archive pages had a content area narrower than their header.
2.7.8
- Fixed: Extra services without a Stock/Qty value blocked the whole booking form with «The value must be 0». A blank stock value was being read as zero available. It is now treated as not stock-managed, and extra services that are really sold out still keep their limit.
- Fixed: The extra service quantity buttons ignored a sold-out limit, did not respond on Single Day time-slot forms when no limit was set, and kept a quantity higher than the new availability after the customer picked different dates.
- Security: Terms & Conditions titles and links on the booking form are now escaped when displayed, completing the hardening started in 2.7.7.
2.7.7
Shared inventory added for Multiple Items rentals. Each item row in a Multiple Items package can now be linked to an existing rental item instead of carrying its own private stock counter, the same way a WooCommerce Product Bundle draws on its component’s stock — except that the pool is also scoped to the selected rental date and time. Booking two units through the package immediately reduces what the individual rental has left for that window, and booking them individually reduces what the package can offer, in both directions and across every package that draws on the same item. The row’s Qty stays meaningful as the maximum this package may offer. Rows left on their own inventory behave exactly as before, and the whole feature can be switched off under Settings, General.
Fixed Standalone Multiple Items bookings not decrementing their sub-item inventory because the saved service lines were empty.
Fixed linked shared-inventory item names displaying encoded HTML entities, and fixed the availability request referencing an undefined value when a Multiple Items rental had no configured rows.
Fixed monthly and weekly duration pricing charging a phantom extra day when hourly threshold pricing was enabled without a positive threshold or leftover hours. Rentals with a configured time-based rollover continue to use the existing threshold behavior.
Security: rental Terms & Conditions URLs are now sanitized when saved and escaped when rendered in the Classic editor, Modern editor and frontend, preventing stored script injection through malicious or legacy URL values.
Security: fixed the Standalone (Custom Payment) checkout being talked into a zero or reduced booking total. The rental price is now rebuilt on the server from the item’s own pricing configuration for every standalone booking, and every price and duration field the browser sends is overwritten with that figure before anything reads it — including the coupon engine, which previously derived a free-day rate from a posted day count and could be made to discount a whole multi-day rental as «one free day». The coupon preview shown while booking is calculated the same way, so the discount a customer is shown is the discount they get. Bookings that cannot be repriced are refused instead of being saved at the submitted amount.
Security: order requests (Pro) now seed their quote from a server-side reprice of the rental rather than from the estimate the browser submitted, and auto-approval refuses to send a quote whose rental price could not be verified.
2.7.6
Gravity Forms integration added. Any Gravity Form can be attached to any rental item as Booking Questions, from either the classic or the modern editor. The customer’s answers travel with the booking into the cart, the WooCommerce order, the booking record, the Bookings screen and the confirmation e-mail, and are shown in a collapsible row beneath each booking. Three modes per item: asked before the booking form appears, optional alongside it, or the Gravity form itself as the order form. A Global Settings switch applies order-form mode to every rental that has a form, for shops running a single ordering flow. Fields are matched by type rather than by id, so editing a form in Gravity Forms cannot break the mapping, and both the WooCommerce and the Standalone checkout are covered. Note that when the Gravity form is the order form the dates come from that form, so availability, inventory and off days no longer restrict the booking.
Security Deposit Management added (Pro): a deposit can be included in the quoted rental price or charged on top, set globally and overridden per item, and marked refundable or non-refundable. Deposits are settled from a new Security Deposits screen with full or partial gateway refunds, refunds recorded outside WordPress, retained balances, customer notices and an audit history. Works in both WooCommerce and Standalone checkout.
Security deposits can now follow a Pro deposit policy. A new rbfw_security_deposit filter lets the Pro deposit manager show a deposit as a liability without adding it to the payable rental total, and the booking summary rows now carry their own price element so a figure can be rewritten in place. With no add-on installed the deposit behaves exactly as before.
Security: fixed rental availability, pricing and inventory data being readable for items that are not published. Booking endpoints now check that the requested item may actually be viewed, instead of only checking that the request came from the site, so drafts, pending, private and trashed items are no longer exposed to visitors. Administrators previewing an unpublished item are unaffected.
Security: fixed unpublished items being priced, coupon-discounted and added to the cart through the search, quick-add, coupon and standalone checkout endpoints.
Security: fixed draft and pending items leaking into public search results and into the sidebar filter options.
Security: fixed a PHP object injection issue. Serialized payloads can no longer be stored in the plugin’s post meta, every value the plugin reads back is decoded with object creation disabled, and any payload already saved on the site is cleaned up automatically on the next admin page load.
Security: the item pricing form builder in the editor is no longer reachable by logged-out visitors and now requires edit permission.
Fixed Delivery and Collection wiping the rental cost from multi-day and multiple-items bookings. Choosing a delivery option left only the delivery legs and the fees on the Price row. In Standalone mode this was not cosmetic: the native checkout posts the displayed total, so the booking was created for the fees alone. Delivery and collection are now rendered as two separate lines in the multi-day and multiple-items summaries, and every multi-day total is written through one renderer that folds the delivery figure into the Price row. Server-side pricing was never affected, and both legs are still re-priced from the stored distance bands when the booking is added to the cart.
2.7.5
Delivery and Collection added (Pro): distance-band pricing with a base fee, a free radius and a maximum distance, editable labels, and a per-item opt-out. Collection can be priced the same as delivery, on its own bands, or free.
Customers pick a named delivery zone («3 — 5 km — $5.00») instead of guessing a distance, and delivery and collection are shown, stored and invoiced as two separate lines. Every amount is recomputed on the server from the stored bands, so the browser can never lower the fee.
Delivery required-field settings added: whether a delivery choice is mandatory (optional, at least one leg, or both legs), and whether address, contact number and delivery notes must be completed.
Accounting payment methods added (card, cheque, cash, bank transfer). Editable in Settings > Payments, offered at the standalone checkout, and recordable on any booking from the Bookings screen, with revenue split by method.
Bookings can now be filtered and sorted by rental date, not only by the date the order was placed. A search for 13 August finds a 12-14 August rental.
Picked and Returned booking statuses now appear in the Order List column, badge, status filter, edit modal and export, so a return can be recorded without opening the booking.
Rent type and location archives now use the plugin’s own listing (grid/list toggle, left filter, price and Book Now) instead of the theme’s blog archive, and an item’s categories are shown as links on the single item page.
New [rbfw_item_search] shortcode: an inline item-name search box.
Payment setup surfaced inside the modern editor: a Payment Method card, a warning while the active booking flow has no usable gateway, and a popup that fixes it without leaving the item.
New Booking Calendar setting to show customer names or the booking count on each day.
Fixed bookings being completed with a 0,00 total on cached pages. An expired nonce now asks the customer to reload instead of adding an empty line to the cart.
Fixed the same unit being booked twice on the same day when stock is not managed on the return date.
Fixed per-rental tax never reaching WooCommerce. An item set to Taxable is now taxed at checkout, and the tax is shown in the booking summary.
Fixed tax missing from the PDF receipt, e-mails, thank-you page and booking detail on High-Performance Order Storage sites.
Fixed activating WooCommerce hijacking a working Standalone shop and asking again which booking mode to use.
Fixed coupon rules in Standalone mode: the booking start date, billed days and customer e-mail are now read correctly, so weekday, blackout, booking-window, free-day and first-booking rules apply as configured. Validity dates are measured in site time, and a new per-coupon setting chooses whether that window is matched against the booking date or the redemption date.
Blackout Dates and Valid From/To are now date pickers with removable chips, and the discount type cards no longer overlap.
Fixed extra-service add-ons: the Resource Cost line now appears for the single-day slot table, zero lines and empty image placeholders are no longer rendered, and the add-on image lightbox works.
Fixed the «Available Today» badge showing when today is an Off Day.
Fixed block themes: the site header, navigation and footer now render correctly on rental item pages and on the new archives, with proper page gutters.
Fixed WooCommerce’s Featured Products block listing every product, and category, tag, attribute and stock filters being dropped from other product queries.
Fixed a rental item becoming permanently unbookable when its hidden WooCommerce product was deleted. Broken links now repair themselves, and duplicating an item no longer shares the original’s product.
Fixed the booking form scrolling past itself after choosing a date or time. The step that was loaded is brought into view instead.
Fixed missing item images in filtered search results when the photo lives only in the Gallery tab.
Fixed the rent list «list» view rendering as a stacked card instead of a row.
Fixed category filtering in [rent-list]: category names are accepted, and an item matching only the location is no longer returned.
Fixed the Bookings Payment Method filter returning nothing for a method plainly shown in the column, and the dropdown listing only «offline».
Fixed gateway settings overwriting unposted text fields with the string «off», which could erase a stored API key or label.
Duration strings such as «3 days» are now translatable, and the translation bundle was regenerated (2927 to 3117 strings, all 7 locales merged with no translations lost).
2.7.4
Seasonal and date-wise Min/Max booking days are now actually applied — the booking calendars honour them and they are enforced when adding to the cart. Previously these values were saved but never read.
Date-wise Min/Max ranges now work in the [rbfw_booking_search] widget as well.
Payments settings redesigned: both booking flows stay visible, and an unavailable one carries the action that unlocks it (activate WooCommerce, or enable the free Offline gateway).
Payments tab now follows the Global Settings colour scheme.
Offline Payment is now a free standalone gateway, with a single unified payment-method notice.
Inventory page now shows both the single-day and multi-day stock models.
Fee Configuration now respects its enable toggle everywhere.
Single-day item variations charge the base rate once, with quantity and price shown consistently.
Sample data import moved to a non-blocking corner widget with progress.
Fixed the [rbfw_booking_search] form layout on mobile.
Fixed the calendar still showing bookings deleted from the Bookings page.
Fixed modern editor rent-type switching and the Discount addon card.
Fixed duplicate rental items appearing in the WooCommerce cart.
Fixed the Booking Mode never being stored when the admin confirmed the flow that was already selected.
Fixed cart page notices on items saved without security deposit or fee data.
Fixed documentation links.
2.7.3

Booking search rebuilt: multi-item date, location and type search with in-page booking and checkout.
Per-attendee registration form data across all booking surfaces.
Global Settings redesigned, the Status page moved in as a tab, and the whole page made mobile responsive.
Order List gained CSV and PDF export, a revenue summary, and an Export Settings accordion.
Edit Stock added to the Inventory page, including extra-service stock.
Standalone booking status management and native checkout flow added.
Buffer Time is now enforced server-side and no longer overrides the «today booking» setting.
Single-day hourly inventory, sold-out time slots and end-time handling fixed.
Server-side availability checks added to prevent double booking.
Multi-day service price manipulation from the client blocked.
Modern editor saving fixed: toggle persistence, pricing-gate abort, and timeslots.
Fixed Scandinavian characters (ae/oe/aa) being corrupted on save.
Admin and frontend strings made translatable; POT and all 7 locale files regenerated.
2.7.2

Rental Items list redesigned: responsive layout, list view by default, image and author columns, icon actions and trash support.
