Usage
As a Widget:
1. Go to Appearance Widgets
2. Drag «FixQuotes Quote of the Day» to your sidebar
3. Select your preferred display type
4. Save
As a Shortcode:
[fixquotes_qotd type=»text_image»]
Available types: text, image, text_image
As a Gutenberg Block:
1. Edit a page or post
2. Click + to add a block
3. Search for «FixQuotes Quote of the Day»
4. Configure display options in the block sidebar

- Data Retrieved: Quote text, author name, author URL, quote image URL
- Data Sent: None — only standard HTTP requests are made
- Data Storage: Quotes are cached locally using WordPress transients for 1 hour
- Third-Party Service: FixQuotes.com — Privacy Policy
No personal information about your visitors is collected or transmitted by this plugin.

Automatic Installation
- Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
- Go to Plugins Add New
- Search for «FixQuotes»
- Click «Install Now» and then «Activate»
- Go to Appearance Widgets and drag the «FixQuotes Quote of the Day» to your sidebar
Manual Installation
- Download the plugin zip file
- Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
- Go to Plugins Add New Upload Plugin
- Choose the downloaded file and click «Install Now»
- Activate the plugin
- Go to Appearance Widgets and configure the widget
Using the Shortcode
After activation, you can use the shortcode anywhere in your posts or pages:

How often do the quotes update?

Quotes are automatically updated daily at midnight (Eastern Time). Each quote is handpicked by FixQuotes editors. The widget caches data locally to ensure fast page loads.

No. Quotes are cached locally for 1 hour, so the external API is only called periodically. Images are served from FixQuotes’ CDN.
