Stripe is a simple way to accept payments online. With Stripe you can accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, and Diners Club cards, even Bitcoin, directly on your store.

Why choose Stripe?

Stripe has no setup fees, no monthly fees, no hidden costs: you only get charged when you earn money! Earnings are transferred to your bank account on a 7-day rolling basis.

Stripe also supports the WooCommerce Subscriptions extension and re-using cards. When a customer pays, they are set up in Stripe as a customer. If they create another order, they can check out using the same card. A massive timesaver for returning customers.

Apple Pay Support

WooCommerce Stripe includes Apple Pay support, which means customers can pay using payment details associated with their Apple ID. Checkout is now just an authorization (Touch ID or Face ID) away on both mobile and desktop. Only supports simple, variable, and Subscription products for now. More support to come.

Web Payments API Support

WooCommerce Stripe includes Web Payments API support, which means customers can pay using payment details associated to their mobile devices, in browsers supporting the Web Payments API (Chrome for Android, amongst others). Checkout is now just a few taps away on mobile. Only supports simple, variable, and Subscription products for now. More support to come.

  • The Stripe payment gateway settings screen used to configure the main Stripe gateway.
  • Offer a range of payment methods such as local and alternative payment methods.
  • Pay with a saved payment method, a new card, and allow customers to save the payment card for future transactions.
  • Apple Pay and other Payment Request buttons can be used on the Product Page and Checkout for express checkout.

You can download an older version of this gateway for older versions of WooCommerce from here.

Please note, v4 of this gateway requires WooCommerce 3.0 and above.

Automatic installation

Automatic installation is the easiest option as WordPress handles the file transfers itself and you don’t need to leave your web browser. To do an automatic install of the WooCommerce Stripe plugin, log in to your WordPress dashboard, navigate to the Plugins menu and click Add New.

In the search field type “WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway” and click Search Plugins. Once you’ve found our plugin you can view details about it such as the point release, rating, and description. Most importantly, of course, you can install it by simply clicking «Install Now», then «Activate».

Manual installation

The manual installation method involves downloading our plugin and uploading it to your web server via your favorite FTP application. The WordPress codex contains instructions on how to do this here.

Automatic updates should work like a charm; as always though, ensure you backup your site just in case.

Часто задаваемые вопросы

Does this support recurring payments, like for subscriptions?

Does this require an SSL certificate?

Yes! In Live Mode, an SSL certificate must be installed on your site to use Stripe. In addition to SSL encryption, Stripe provides an extra JavaScript method to secure card data using Stripe Elements.

Does this support both production mode and sandbox mode for testing?

Yes, it does — production and Test (sandbox) mode is driven by the API keys you use with a checkbox in the admin settings to toggle between both.

Where can I find documentation?

For help setting up and configuring, please refer to our documentation.

Where can I get support or talk to other users?

If you get stuck, you can ask for help in the Plugin Forum.

When trying to reactivate the plugging, get the "Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wc_stripe() (previously declared in /home/xxxxxxx/www/wp-content/plugins/woo-stripe-payment/includes/class-stripe.php:340) in /home/xxxxxx/www/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/woocommerce-gateway-stripe.php on line 57"................I have heard this plugging is cancelled by wordpress...... Is it true? or rather I wait a while for the next debugged update?................Please advise.
Une fatal error qui fait que je ne peux plus remettre en place l'extension sur mon site. Obligé de passer par d'autres extensions (potentiellement moins fiables...)
I got a message this morning from one of my staff that she couldn't log into our website. I immediately investigated and found 705 of these: [17-Nov-2020 02:12:53 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wc_stripe() (previously declared in /usr/local/lsws/vhost1/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/woo-stripe-payment/includes/class-stripe.php:340) in /usr/local/lsws/vhost1/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/woocommerce-gateway-stripe.php on line 57 So, clearly the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway author has arrogantly stomped all over the namespace of the Stripe for WooCommerce plugin. Now that WordPress performs automatic updates, plugin authors should be especially careful to respect the namespace around them, especially when the plugin is an official WooCommerce one! We just checked the changelog for this version. It says 4.5.5 – 2020-11-17 Fix – Guard against fatal errors that may occur on inbox data store load. It missed out Break - Break websites by declaring or renaming function wc_stripe() We were just testing the Stripe for WooCommerce plugin, as it enables Cardholder Not Present payments through the admin order screen, but since this incident we have completed the testing and have uninstalled the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway plugin and will not be using it again. Instead, we recommend Stripe for WooCommerce, which you can get free from the WordPress plugins directory.
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wc_stripe() (previously declared in /home/clients/08b38091c8214a32a2c....(numbers continue here)/shop/wp-content/plugins/woo-stripe-payment/includes/class-stripe.php:340) in /home/clients/08b38091c8214a32a2.../shop/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/woocommerce-gateway-stripe.php on line 57 I had to use WP Recovery Mode to login to admin area. Then I deactivated plugin and reactivated again. However, a message appeared with info that it cannot be activated due to fatal error. So...I deactivated after all.
Why would a plugin that is the official plugin for stripe not accept Maestro cards?..Absolutely ridiculous
I installed and registered to stribe for a lenguage club I made and I received an email saying they were going to hold 25% of payments I receive (beside their service fees) because I am a new user/business and they do not know the risk of my product. As a conversational club there is very low risk because I don't sale fisical products that could damage or no shipping to be make. 25% is a third part of my earning and I think assuming that can take a business to bankruptcy even before starting. Because like any busines there are expenses to be cover. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!. And it seems to be obvious that they are just trying to work with your 25% to monetize them self. It's a shame!!!.
