This plugin routes your emails to MailHog for development purpose.
If you are using MailHog on your development environment, you can use this plugin to route your emails to MailHog.
Установка
- Upload the plugin folder to the
/wp-content/plugins/directory - Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress

Installed it, activated it, and MailHog started to receive emails. Just what I wanted!

This is a great example of how you don't need to overcomplicate things, and still make a great and super useful plugin.
The plugin will just hook to phpmailer_init and make it work with Mailhog. No configuration is needed, it just works.

I've been using this a lot lately on my local development. Like another person said, to make it work on a docker container, you need to change the smtp host adding this line to wp_config:
define( 'WP_MAILHOG_HOST', 'mailhog' );
